Ready for the cliche beginning? Ever since I was younger, I knew I was different. I always felt what others felt around me, as if the emotions were my own, but I never really identified with the emotion, as if it wasn’t originating from me. Much like picking up a signal you don’t intend to. It wasn’t until I became older that I realized that I was an empath. I’m able to feel the energy, or the emotions of those around me. I promise, I’m not a witch. At least in the traditional sense.
In physics, we spent a lot of time learning about energy, and its many different forms, most of which can be utilized by us to make things happen. Spiritual energy is no less real than any other energy, like electricity for example, but is vastly more important. Spiritual energy is prana (also known as “universal life force” or “qi” pronounced “chi”) carried by pure love. One thing that we have lost sight of, is that things don’t have to be tangible and physically in front of us for us to know that they exist. The same applies to energy, we can’t see, touch, taste, energy in a physical sense. However, I believe that emotions may be a tool in which we evolved to be able to decipher through energies.
That’s how I got interested in Tarot reading. I knew I wanted to use my gift to sense and read energies for good, but I needed to understand what it was in its entirety before venturing out. The tarot is a deck of typically 78 cards that came into popular usage in 15th century Europe. Its exact origin is unknown but it quickly spread as a tool for divination or seeing into a person’s future. However, most scholars and modern teachers agree that the cards have far more value as tools for self-reflection and self-actualization. I believe that at its essence, the tarot is a tool for more deeply understanding yourself. So when I read Tarot, I’m not telling the future, or forecasting fortune. I’ m not capable of that and I wouldn’t claim to be. What I aim to do is help guide you through a journey of your own energies, and what you are bringing to the table, and help you understand what energies are fueling you and which are hindering you. All this in an effort to help you give yourself clarity. I approach Tarot in a way that medicine and healthcare should be approached. Doctor’s don’t heal you, you heal yourself. Doctor’s are only there to facilitate and supervise the process, but the patient is who does all the work. Thus, it is the same with my craft. I will never tell you what to do, only offer my insight and guidance.
Each card has a highly symbolic picture or painting that is an artistic representation and interpretation of some aspect of ancient philosophical and esoteric wisdom. Because the brain codes much of its information symbolically, it is believed on a very practical level that these cards can trigger a deeper understanding of ourselves, along with our present, past and future situations. They helps us find new meanings and interpretations of events and circumstances in our lives and serve as a catalyst for positive change. In a more mystical sense, they can trigger various archetypal and metaphysical energies within us that can be useful tools for healing and navigating one’s life.
We must realize that all that we experience outside of ourselves comes from within, all that is within manifests without. Unfortunately, at times, the hardest thing to do is to identify why we may be feeling a certain way or why we are attracting experiences that don’t feel in alignment with our desires, because ego can block our signals from the soul. This is where the tarot can be the ultimate resource in your spiritual “tool kit”. The tarot allows you to subtract ego, by allowing what is within to manifest from the imagery/intention of the cards (the with-out). There is nothing magical or mystical about the cards themselves, it is all the energy that comes from you by projecting your intention, and allowing “guidance” to come through. Understanding that you are the maker and creator of your own destiny, and allowing the tarot to give you insight to form a better future, can empower you and ignite your inner light, which illuminates the path ahead and facilitates a better understanding of not only the world, but your world as well.
Nikola Tesla said it best: “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” In an effort to encourage more individuals to manifest, I’ll be offering free tarot readings for the month of December. Please email me to set up an appointment.
